Waka Flocka Flame Found Not Guilty of Gun Charges

The Associated Press has reported that a lawyer for Waka Flocka Flame says the rapper was found not guilty of gun charges by a jury. The charges were filed after a handgun was found in Flocka’s carry-on bag during a security check at the Atlanta airport.

The rapper, whose real name is Juaquin Malphurs, was arrested in October 2014 on charges including carrying a weapon in an unauthorized location. Defense attorney Drew Finding said that after the four day trial, the Clayton County jury took less than half an hour to acquit Waka Flocka.

Findings said he was very happy about the final decision. He said that the defense had argued the entire time that the entire situation was a mistake – that the rapper accidentally took his wife’s bag to the airport without knowing the gun was inside.
