‘4:44’ Goes Platinum and Hits Apple Music

by Malachi Weaver

Jay-Z’s 13th studio album 4:44 is now available on Apple Music. The album was originally only available on Tidal to Sprint customers but was later made available to all Tidal customers.

While 4:44 is still not available on Spotify, it is rumored that an extended version of the album will be sold as physical copies soon. The physical release will feature three new tracks: “Adnis,” “ManyFacedGod” featuring James Blake, and “Blue’s Freestyle / We Family,” a rap freestyle performed by Jay’s daughter Blue Ivy.

Tidal exclusivity has not stopped the album from performing well. In only five days, 4:44 has been certified platinum by RIAA. While the album has only been available for streaming since its release, Sprint purchased a million copies for its users and Tidal customers. Sprint also offered a six-month free trial of Tidal to all of its customers.
