Rapper Troy Ave and his girlfriend were en route to visit family in Brooklyn on Christmas night when a hooded gunman walked up to the drive side of his car and opened fire. Ave was hit in the arm and grazed on the head.
Troy Ave was able to make it to Brookdale Hospital and was treated for his injuries, which were deemed non-life threatening. At the hospital a rep from the New York Post asked Ave how he was doing and he responded “Shot in the head, man.” He is now said to be in stable condition.
Fellow rapper 50 Cent later visited Ave at the hospital, as evidenced by a photo of the two posted by 50 Cent onto Instagram. “Dope boy Troy all good,” 50 wrote. “Merry Christmas.”
