Sia’s ‘Free Me’ Video With Zoe Saldana Promotes #endHIV Campaign

Sia just revealed her new “Free Me” video, starring Zoe Saldana and Julianne Moore. The song will benefit the #endHIV campaign.

The Blake Martin-directed clip features choreography from Ryan Heffingtonn and narration from Julianna Moore, beginning with Saldana in a doctor’s office. Moore describes Saldana’s character as “an expecting mother, a daughter, a friend,” but then drops that “she’s about to learn that HIV has taken hold of her body, attacking her immune system and if left untreated will be passed on to the baby growing inside her.”

The video then becomes interpretive as Saldana begins to work through the news. Dancers move to the piano-led ballad as Sia sings along: “Free me, free me/ from this pain I’ve been running from.

All proceeds from “Free Me” will be donated to the #endHIV campaign. The campaign is working with the Abzyme Research Foundation “on a promising solution to the HIV/AIDS pandemic” seeking FDA approval and looking to begin human clinical trials.
