Donald Glover Calls Migos “The Beatles of This Generation”

While giving his acceptance speech last night (Jan. 8) at the 2017 Golden Globes for winning Best TV series for his show Atlanta, Donald Glover gave a huge complement to the Atlanta rap group Migos.

“I’d like to thank the Migos – not for being on the show, but for making ‘Bad and Boujee,’” said Glover referencing the group’s latest hit (which is currently No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100).

Later Glover continued complements for the group backstage, saying “I think they’re the Beatles of this generation and they don’t get a lot of respect, I think, outside of Atlanta. Not that they don’t get respect, but there’s a generation, sort of like the YouTube generation that I kind of came up with. There’s a generation of kids that are growing up on something that’s completely separate from a whole group of people.

“Honestly, that song is just fly,” Glover added. “There’s no better song to have sex to.”

Migos thanked Glover on Twitter soon after, writing “Thank You Donald Glover! #Culture 01.27.17”.
