On Thursday (Dec. 22) Chance The Rapper released a surprise Christmas themed mixtape with fellow Chicago native Jeremih. Called Merry Christmas Lil’ Mama, the mixtape includes holiday inspired titles like “I’m Your Santa” and “Chi Town Christmas”.
The first track, “All the Way”, features a guest verse from comedian Hannibal Buress, samples “Nuttin’ for Christmas” by Art Mooney and His Orchestra, and starts with the “you’ll shoot your eye out” line from A Christmas Story. “The Tragedy” features a guest verse from Noname and “I Shoulda Left You” features guest vocals from Lud Foe. “Stranger at the Table” interpolates the chorus of the Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back.”
This mixtape marks the third collaboration between Chance and Jeremih. Jeremih previously appeared on Chance’s “Summer Friends” and Chance was featured on a remix to Jeremih’s “Pass Dat.”
