Calvin Harris and Frank Ocean Collaboration Rumors Are Back

A few weeks ago Calvin Harris made news from what seemed like a tease of new music on his Snapchat story. The alleged new single seemed to feature vocals from Frank Ocean, who Harris had been photographed with not too long before.

Now rumors of the Harris-Ocean collab are back, thanks to another snippet posted by Harris on Snapchat. This time though, Harris’s tease also includes what appear to be vocals from Offset of Migos. Listen below:

While neither Harris, Ocean, nor Offset have addressed the rumors directly, Harris recently announced on Twitter his plans to release new music this year and applauded the new Migos album Culture.

Zedd’s ACLU Benefit Concert Will Feature Skrillex, Tinashe, Imagine Dragons, and More

Among the many celebrities who have been vocal about politics recently is Zedd, who previously threatened to leave the United States if Trump were elected. While has since opted to stay, Zedd has also decided that he is going to “stand up for what I believe is right.”

His first action has already been announced – a benefit concert for the ACLU called “Welcome.” Phase 1 of the show is scheduled for Monday, April 3, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and features performances from Skrillex, Incubus, Macklemore, Tinashe, Imagine Dragons, Daya, and Halsey. If you replaced the lyrics to popular songs with gibberish would they still be hits? YouTubers Elijah and Christine answered this question with their latest video – “BING BONG (OFFICIAL VIDEO) – Closer by The Chainsmokers & Halsey PARODY”.

“We recreated the entire Closer video and replaced all the words with either bing or bong,” says the video’s description.

The parody has gathered almost a half million views since its release on Tuesday (Jan.31). Check it out below.

Louis Tomlinson Says His First Single Came By Accident

In an interview with Music Choice, Louis Tomlinson revealed that his first single – “Just Hold On” with Steve Aoki – came about by accident.

“I went to see one of Steve’s shows,” Tomlinson explained, “and kinda just on a whim I said do you want to work together?”

“Just Hold On” is Tomlinson’s first solo release since One Direction went on hiatus in December 2015. The song was first debuted on The X Factor, only a couple of days after Tomlinson’s mother passed from leukemia at 43.

Fans Speculate Possible Frank Ocean and Calvin Harris Collab

Fans of both Frank Ocean and Calvin Harris have been in speculation since yesterday (Jan. 26), when Calvin Harris shared a mysterious song snippet to his Snapchat story.

Far from Ocean’s typical sound, the snippet seems to be a mid-tempo dance track. For many, the vocals on the unidentified track seem to sound like Ocean’s voice, hence why people are assuming a collaboration between the two.

As Stereogum pointed out, Ocean and Harris were photographed together this past summer. Still, neither has confirmed or denied collaboration.

Shooting at BPM Festival In Mexico Leaves Five Dead, 15 Wounded

For the past ten years, the BPM Festival has been a staple for fans of electronic music, bringing in around 70,000 participants yearly for the ten day festival in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Unfortunately, the festival’s legacy has now been marred by the mass shooting that happened this past Monday (January 16) at Blue Parrot nightclub. The shooting, which happened on the last night of the festival, left five dead and fifteen wounded.

In light of the shooting, The BPM Festival – and all similar electronic music events – has reportedly been banned from Playa del Carmen.

“At this moment, our general stance is not to allow BPM to perform here,” said Mayor of Solidaridad and President of the Business Coordinating Council of the Riviera Maya Cristina Torres Gómez in a Monday press conference.

According to Run The Trap, a Mexican drug cartel has taken responsibility for the shootings, based on a news report showing a blanket with writing on it, which RTT says is “a common way of sending mass messages by cartels across the country.”

While BPM is currently not allowed to return to Playa del Carmen, the festival announced last week that it will expand to Brazil and Portugal later this year. Updates on the festival can be found at thebpmfestival.com.

This song comes off of Sampha’s debut album Process, scheduled to be released on February 3. Two singles for the album have already been released – “Timmy’s Prayer” and “Blood on Me.”

Moby Says He Won’t Play at Trump Inauguration Unless Trump Releases Tax Returns

Moby has announced that he was invited to DJ at Donald Trump’s Inauguration on January 20, but that he would only do it under a few conditions.

“I guess I’d DJ at an inaugural ball if as payment #trump released his tax returns,” the DJ wrote on Instagram after laughing the idea off.

“Hahahahaha, wait,” Moby wrote. “Hahahaha, really?”

Moby is not the first celebrity to reportedly deny performing at this year’s presidential inauguration. Celine Dion, Elton John, Garth Brooks, David Foster, and Andrea Bocelli have all been said to have rejected the opportunity, and X-Factor alum Rebecca Ferguson tweeted that she would only agree to perform if she could sing the anti-racism protest song “Strange Fruit.”

Like Ferguson, Moby’s would-be performance also comes with a controversial song selection. “I would probably play public enemy and stockhausen remixes to entertain the republicans,” Moby wrote in his Instagram post. Moby then made a Spotify playlist consisting of songs he says he would play if he were to DJ the event, and it includes songs like Public Enemy’s “Fight The Power” and Gil Scott-Heron’s “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised.”
