At the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards, Britney Spears will receive the first-ever Icon Award. This award goes to artists with multigenerational Radio Disney Fans and whose career stretches beyond conventional pop culture.
Spears has sold close to 150 million records across the world. Her first single, “…Baby One More Time,” was released in 1998. She has over 30 Billboard Hot 100 hits – including four No. 1s – and has had six albums debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Radio Disney considers Spears one of the most successful entertainers, having played more than 15 or her singles on their radio.
The 2017 RDMAs will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Saturday, April 29. It will air in a two-hour telecast on Sunday, April 30, on multiple Disney platforms.
