Big Sean is being celebrated for “inspiring Detroit youth” because of his charity work. Sean was giving the key to the city of Detroit last Saturday (April 1).
Sean thanked the city’s mayor Michael Duggan on Twitter for the honor. “Thank you Mayor Duggan for the Key to the City of Detroit,” he wrote. “I know how big of an honor this is! Thank u!”

Sean, who is a Detroit native, is now the youngest person to be awarded the city’s honor. He joins fellow honorees like Stevie Wonder and Sammy Davis Jr.
