Beyoncé Sued Over Roc-A-Fella Logo

by Malachi Weaver

Beyoncé is being sued for showing the Roc-A-Fella logo in her 2013 music video for “Drunk in Love.” The lawsuit has been filed by Dwayne Walker, who claims that he created and owns the rights to the logo. Walker previously filed a suit against Jay Z for $7 million for using the same logo but lost the case this past September.

The logo appears only for a quick flash in the “Drunk in Love” video as it is on a necklace worn by Jay Z. Jay Z is not mentioned in the lawsuit. In the previous case against Jay Z, Walker alleged that he was owed royalties for the design. The judge dismissed the case after Walker was unable to produce proof of a contract.

Beyoncé has yet to publicly address the suit.
