Ice Cube was surrounded by friends and family yesterday (June 12) as he was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“You know, you don’t get here by yourself and when you’re coming up doing music, movies, just trying to be creative, you never figure you’ll be on the Holly wood Walk of Fame one day,” he said. “So today is not really about Ice Cube, it’s about all the people who helped me get here.”
Ice Cube began his career at 16 when he first connected with future N.W.A. member Eazy-E, then broke off for a solo career in 1989. He began acting in 1991, starring in Boyz n the Hood, and has since appeared in over two dozen more films including Friday, Barbershop, and the 21 Jump Street series.
