Pepsi, Kane Brown Dish Up the Smooth Country Flavors to Show how Summer is Better with Pepsi

by The Music Channel Staff July 17, 2021
written by The Music Channel Staff

Nothing screams summer more than time with friends and family, and made better with the best music gigs, great food, and of course, ice cold Pepsi. This summer, Pepsi is helping fans celebrate their favorite flavors now and later by teaming up with unapologetic country music star Kane Brown, to celebrate the foods and moments that are made even “Better with Pepsi.”

To extend the summer fun, Pepsi is launching its “Summer Better with Pepsi” sweepstakes to bring the ultimate VIP experience for a lucky fan. The winner will get to meet Kane Brown himself and get tickets for them and 20 of their friends to one of Kane Brown’s shows on his “Blessed and Free” tour, complete with a spread of his namesake chicken sandwich – Kane Brown’s Nashville Hot Royale, as seen on Guy’s Restaurant Reboot – served up with plenty of ice-cold Pepsi. Fans can enter at SummerBetterWithPepsi.com.

“Nothing brings people together more than food and music, and Pepsi has always been the perfect match for both. I am thrilled to be working with Pepsi to not only support our local restaurants, but to bring the ultimate, live music experience for fans who have been missing it most,” said Kane Brown.

The winner won’t be the only one able to enjoy Kane’s signature creation: fans can still enjoy the custom beignet bun hot chicken sandwich with a Pepsi available exclusively at Party Fowl in Nashville until June 27th. Kane joined an all-star cast this past Saturday on Guy’s Restaurant Reboot, alongside Shaquille O’Neal, Adriana Lima, Rob Gronkowski, and Wale as part of the show’s Off the Hook Celebrity Creation segment presented by Pepsi.

“Summer is all about fun food moments with family and friends. Knowing that this summer will see people getting together with loved ones in a way they couldn’t last year, we wanted to reward consumers with the unique experiences Pepsi is known for – with one of country music’s biggest stars,” said Jenny Figueroa, Senior Director of Marketing, South Division, PepsiCo Beverages North America. “We are also honored to support our local restaurants as they begin to this road to recovery after business struggles this past year.”

Garth Brooks Explains Why He Couldn’t Play at Trump Inauguration

by Malachi Weaver January 17, 2017
written by Malachi Weaver

Garth Brooks may have been criticized by many of his fans for not performing at the inauguration of Donald Trump on Friday, but he has a reason.

Responding to comments on his weekly “Inside Studio G” Facebook live show, Brooks clarified that his not agreeing to perform was due to tour conflicts.

“We go up to do the Christmas tree lighting in D.C., and TMZ — they always stick a camera in your face — they go, ‘Hey man, what about the inauguration?’ And the response was, ‘It’s always an honor to serve.’ I wasn’t asked at that point,” Brooks told his viewers.

Brooks was later approached by Steve Wynn and the inaugural team. “Steve Wynn is my brother,” Brooks said of Wynn. “I love him to death.”

But being in the middle of scheduling a two-year worldwide tour, things were still up in the air for Brooks. “We left it up to karma. If Cincinnati goes two weekends instead of one, then of course we are out.”

Strong ticket sales urged three additional shows to be added in Cincinnati, thus booking the country star during the inaugural weekend.

“I’ll tell you with this whole presidential thing: We got one going out. Pray for him and his family. And for the president going in, pray for him and his family to guide this nation. Let’s stay together,” Brooks said. “Love, unity — that’s what it’s all about.”

The singer spoke on both the incoming and outgoing administrations, saying “we can’t thank the Obamas enough for serving this country, and may God hold Trump’s hand in the decisions that he makes in this country’s name as well.”
Watch Garth Brooks address inauguration concerns at around the 4:30 mark here:

Taylor Swift Earns 20th Country Airplay Top 10 As A Writer With “Better Man” by Little Big Town

by Malachi Weaver January 12, 2017
written by Malachi Weaver

Little Big Town’s “Better Man” has peaked at No. 10 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart dated January 21. This elevation marks achievements for both the band and the song’s writer Taylor Swift.

The lead single from LBT’s eighth studio album, The Breaker (due Feb. 24), “Better Man” has become Little Big Town’s eighth Country Airplay Top 10 – their first since “Girl Crush,” which hit No. 3 in August 2015.

“Better Man” also makes Taylor Swift’s 20th Country Airplay Top Ten as a writer, her first since her self-written “Red,” which peaked at No. 7 in December 2013. Of all of her previous 19 top 10s as a writer Swift recorded all but Kellie Pickler’s “Best Days of Your Life,” which she co-wrote with Pickler.

Of her twenty top 10s as a writer, Swift wrote 11 by herself.
