Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s ‘Despacito’ Remix With Justin Bieber Makes 2017’s Biggest YouTube Music Debut

by Malachi Weaver

A remix to Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” immediately catapulted to high views on YouTube, partly because of guest vocals from Justin Bieber – who sings in Spanish on the track. According to YouTube, the remix has been the largest debut of a song on the platform this year.

The song, released Monday, gained close to 20 million views internationally in the first 24 hours of uploading. No music video uploaded to YouTube has grown that fast this year.

Fonsi and Yankee’s original version to the song itself has over 1 billion views and has stayed at the top of YouTube’s Global Music Top 100 chart.

Despacito is my favourite song sung by my favourite singers . With every moment the song comes on TV I’m the one who is blissfully happy.
